The Cheesecake Factory
Reviews and Complaints
The meal that was ordered was not cooked correctly.
I ordered chicken riesling, and my wife ordered Chinese chicken salad at the cheesecake factory located in the river shopping Center development located in Palm Desert California. When the food arrived I noticed that the chicken was undercooked, and the sauce was runny.
I cut the chicken up and took a bite. The chicken was not edible. To the manager the server came by and I told him the chicken was not cooked in my opinion and I wanted a different entrée. I I ordered the jambalaya.
My wife completed her meal and I had to wait 20 minutes before my mail came. I was not happy that we were not able to eat our meal together. When the manager finally showed up, he told me the chicken was just over cooked. I feel fat the meal was raw and he did not say or do anything else.
When the bill finally came, the server said oh I took off your first meal and replaced the price of the second meal. The server or the manager did not make any changes to the bill. In fact, the cost of the jambalaya was approximately five dollars more than the cost of the chicken riesling. I am not really happy with the service.
I am not happy with how the manager handled , the situation cheesecake management should review company policy with respect to customer service. And.

Verified Reviewer | Santa Monica, CaliforniaRacially Profiled
I was racially profiled at your Santa Monica restaurant today and I'm livid. I will never spend another dime at your establishment and I will encourage others to follow my lead.
I was at Nordstrom shopping and as I was leaving the mall decided to grab some takeout from your establishment.
I placed my order and was told it would be 25 minutes.
I took a seat and the lady called my name after 20 munutes. I walked up to the counter and the lady was not at the counter. She was gone long enough for me to put my cell in my purse and grab a few dollars for a tip. She never returned to the counter, but my bag was sitting on the counter with my name on it, so I grabbed the bag and left the establishment.
I assumed that's how it works with takeout orders since I had never ordered takeout before other than cheesecake or cake and the attendant was usually present the whole time.
Anyway, I was walking outside and I stopped to retrieve my parking ticket from my purse. While I was stopped, I heard someone say, "Ma'am" "Ma'am" ...I turned around and it was "Sayeed". He told me that was his name, but since he wouldn't give me the Corporate info, I don't know if that's his real name.
"Sayeed" approached me and asked if I grabbed a bag from the counter. I told him, "yes", I grabbed my order.
I commenced to tell him the lady called my name, but wasn't at the counter, so I grabbed my food which clearly displayed my name.
"Sayeed" started acting and talking like I had stolen my food which had already been paid for. I asked him why did he chase me down outside the restaurant asking me about grabbing my own food. He then lied and said there were several bags on the counter. There was only one bag on the counter and it displayed my name.
His lying made it very obvious he was racial profiling.
I was so upset because I knew I was being racially profiled. I believe he asked how did I know it was my food, I told him that the bag had my "fkking" name on it, so I took it. He had the audacity to say that I should have asked. I said, "...ask who!?" No one was at the counter.
And why did I need to ask when the stapled closed bag clearly displayed my name and order.
I showed him the bag that had my name and order information. I told him I ordered chicken picatta and carrot cake. Since I only had one bag and not a separate bag for the cake, "Sayeed" said I didn't have the carrot cake which I assumed was in the bag, so he went back into the restaurant and came out with a smaller bag that contained the carrot cake.
"Sayeed" never apologized for his apparent racial profiling. Instead, he chose to let his bigotry win the day.
It was at that point, I asked for the information for the Corporate Office.
"Sayeed" asked me why and refused to give it to me and said "...you got your food."
I was both angry and embarrassed that this guy chased me down outside the restaurant because someone told him a "black woman grabbed a bag off the counter". And rather than get all details before chasing me down publicly outside the restaurant...he chose to approach me and make a scene without having all the facts...this is called racial profiling, as well as implicit bias and it's unacceptable and I don't appreciate it, PERIOD!
And just so it's clear, at no time did "Sayeed" chase me down to say "Ma'am, you forgot your carrot cake." He was arrogant and unapologetic. His behavior was deliberate and egregious. This man chased me down because he was told I grabbed a bag off the counter (the only bag sitting on the counter which happen to have my name on it) and left the restaurant.
"Sayeed" chose to assume the worst--that's implicit bias! And it's NOT okay!
Let me reiterate, the lady at the counter was nowhere to be found. I stood there at least a couple of minutes before I grabbed my order. But this isn't about me taking my order, or about the order taker not being at the counter.
It's about a representative of the Cheesecake Factory brand, "Sayeed" racial profiling a customer and the company's apparent and tolerant culture toward implicit bias.
My company will never order from your establishments again. I will also ensure that my family and friends no longer dine at any of your establishments, as well as anyone who follows on social media.
After I got home I was too angry to eat.
But based on the presentation, I wouldn't have eaten this slop anyway. The Santa Monica establishment is the worst in service and food hands down...and now racial profiling and implicit bias can be added to the list.
Shame on Cheesecake Factory!

Have you always had a chip on your shoulder? Do you always accuse people of being bigots and racists when they say or do something you don't like?
This Sayeed should sue you in civil court for libel! In fact, I will make sure he sees this so he can decide if he wants to pursue legal action.
